I'm looking for a TCG Opal compliant software solution to enable the SED on the disk and prevent the long boot times and performance penalty associated with TrueCrypt / VeraCrypt used with my current spinning disk. because the client data is financial data already known to the government (i.e, tax and investment information that is submitted to the government). I have no problem with the NSA having a backdoor, etc. Security requirements are to protect client data against common data thieves. It's a long boring story, but the result is that I want to use a Samsung 850 EVO SSD in a laptop that does not have a bios password setting.
